Two Chapters, One Beginning

Ten years ago, two chapters began at once: my son Beau was born, and I opened the little shop that would carry his name. Before that, I had spent fifteen years working in administration. It taught me a lot, but it was never where my heart was. Becoming a mother made me think differently about how I wanted to spend my time. If I was going to be away from Beau, I wanted to be building something I cared about. Women’s clothing had always been a love of mine, and opening the shop gave me a chance to turn that interest into my everyday work. There was plenty to learn, but I finally felt excited about what I was creating. Naming the shop after Beau was my way of keeping him at the heart of it.

A Love for Everyday Style

What I love about fashion is how personal it can be. A colour you’re drawn to, a flattering shape, or a piece that feels like you can make getting dressed something to enjoy. That feeling guides the way I choose pieces for Jennifer & Beau. I look for clothing that catches my eye while still having a place in an everyday wardrobe. I want you to enjoy browsing, imagine how you would wear something, and find pieces you can make your own. Just as importantly, I want you to feel welcome to ask a question or reach out for help. Choosing beautiful pieces with care and treating people thoughtfully remain at the centre of what I do. Ten years later, those are still the parts of running the shop that matter most to me.

Ten Years Together, More to Come

Today, Beau is ten, and so is the shop. Watching them both grow has made this anniversary especially meaningful. When I think back to the beginning, I’m grateful that I took the chance to do something I loved. I’m also grateful to the women who have chosen to shop with us along the way. Every order is a reminder that someone has chosen something from a collection I’ve put care into. My hope is to keep doing this for many years, continuing to learn and finding pieces I’m excited to share with you. For now, I want to take a moment to appreciate these first ten years and everyone who has been part of them. Whether you’ve shopped with us before or have only just found us, thank you for being here.
